the straight-line dress, 5 ways

Y’all doubted me — but here we are.

I ran a poll on whether or not I should go for this straight-line dress while thrifting the other day. The vast majority voted no, so I rose to the challenge. The fact that this dress is neutral makes it a staple that can be easily styled as part of any outfit.

It’s easy to write something off when it fits a bit oversized or may otherwise be deemed as ‘boring’. My mission is to inspire you to explore the vast ways you can restyle an item over and over again. I’m nowhere near a capsule wardrobe at this point in life (although that is an eventual life goal LOL), but anything that makes that objective even slightly more attainable is a step in the right direction.

Here are some other ideas that didn’t make the cut:

  • Belted with a chunky belt and either wedges or a pointed toe high-heel

  • With a loungy crewneck sweater over top so that the white neckline peeks out, sleeves rolled

  • Paired with a band tee, sleeves rolled

  • Light vest over top with combat boots

To be honest, the possibilities are endless. What are some ideas you have?

Stay real,

— K
